ABOUT ERIC ROE
Eric Roe ran for County Commissioner to help Chester County reach its full potential, and that’s what he has worked toward ever since he won. Just as he did as a state representative, he is protecting families, helping those in need, and advocating for the job creators and employees who grow our economy.
A firm believer in the free market and fiscal restraint, Eric has consistently held the line on taxes. Chester County is Pennsylvania’s most expensive county to live in, and higher taxes only make the problem worse. Eric wants to improve affordability so future generations can stay here and raise their families here. Whether in the state capitol or in the county seat, Eric has consistently voted against raising taxes.
As a state representative, Eric also passed legislation to reform the state’s pension systems to simultaneously protect taxpayers and state employees from promises the state could not actually keep. Meanwhile, he made historic investments in education to ensure our schools and students had the resources they needed to succeed. An advocate for those in the shadows, Eric also passed legislation to protect victims of domestic violence.
He holds a B.A. from American University in Washington, DC, where he studied political science as an undergraduate. He later earned his M.Sc. in public policy from University College London in the United Kingdom. Most recently, Eric earned his law degree from Temple University.
Eric Roe has a mix of private sector, public sector, and non-profit experience. In the private sector, he served as a client services manager at a local financial advisory firm right here in Chester County. He also previously worked as special assistant at the Chertoff Group, a homeland security consulting firm.
Dedicated to our community, Eric has served numerous non-profit organizations here in Chester County. From 2014 to 2016, he was on the board of directors of the Domestic Violence Center of Chester County. Eric also volunteered as a citizenship teacher and ESL volunteer at La Comunidad Hispana, located in Kennett Square. Eric has gone abroad on multiple mission trips, including to Haiti, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and China to teach English and serve as an interpreter. He is also the first state-level official in Chester County to hold a town hall entirely in Spanish.
At the core of his ambition is the desire to see Chester County become the most family-friendly, business-friendly county in the nation someday. He wants to make it more affordable to live here, while also preserving Chester County’s landscapes and preventing overdevelopment. Eric’s rich professional, academic, and personal experiences have shaped these achievable goals, and he has a track record of furthering this mission.
Eric and his wife, Alice, live in the Downingtown area. They are the proud parents of four wonderful children.
